I read this a day or so ago and I still don't know what to type, my mind is still frazzled.and not because it was bad it was far from it. It was amazing and probably my favorite so far out of the series, just this book was literally a roller coaster ride of emotions, with plenty of those kisses that Lacey is famous for.

Vance and Portia head to Scotland in hopes of finding his mother and end up in cluster of a mess and it doesn't stop until the very end which I must say -- 'loud scream' inserted here because Lacey left us hanging like she did. I thought the last cliffhanger was bad, but I think this one tops any ending I have ever read. I better stop before I give anything away and you might smack me. I just wish I could talk to someone that has read it before I explode because I am stunned , shocked and in disbelief,. Look at me ramble on when I said wouldn't I'm sorry. Did I mention how hot those kisses were in this book? I did, didn't I ?

But if you read the previous two books, you will devour this book in no time I did. And if its possible to love these characters anymore this book will do it. Sorry for the previous ramble I just-- never mind. Just get this book asap is all I have left to say. I really need book 4, Dark Rising Like now, not tomorrow.

Just like books one, and two, this was another fast paced read, and a real page turner.

I loved this book as much as book one and two! At least I didn't have to pause to read the book this time, as I'd bought book three at the same time as book two - but I couldn't get three open fast enough, and it not only gave me everything I'd hoped for, but more!

Ms. Weatherford is now firmly on my list as a Favourite author.

This series will be going onto my 'read again pile' for sure.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!
Wow! The emotions run high in this one! I cried because I was happy and I cried because I was devastated. And then there was just complete shock! I was trying to read the last few chapters while my daughter was in play practice with tears running down my face and trying not to let anyone see me! Portia and Vance's relationship grows even more, as well as the close relationship with the family. I am looking forward to the next book, which I've already downloaded to see where this story leads...definitely a cliffhanger at the end.
I have been reading this series but I am now tired of every other page saying "I love you". I realize thie needs to be in the story but it is overkill.

The story is good although I find some major contridictions with Vance. In book 2 he kills a very powerful warlock, whose abilities flow into Vance.

Book 3, Blood of the White Witch, he seems unable to overcome a witch and warlock who obviously are well below his level of power. I say this because the story says more than once how Vance is this super powerful warlock.
I can't say more without spoiling the book. I wonder has anyone else noticed that Vance is toted as being extremely powerful but can't over come the warlock and witch in Scotland?

I am giving this book 3 stars because of repetitive I Love You's and the discrepancy with Vance's character, otherwise I would give it 4 stars.

It is still a good read for teens, but maybe better for the under 16 group.
This book is one of those rare finds, as it brings me so many different emotions. The rollercoaster ride is written masterfully. The story is compelling from cover to cover and is impossible to put down.

Author Lacey Weatherford creates a thoroughly engrossing story. She further develops the characters I have come to know, throws in a lot of suspense, and adds several unexpected twists. The book is captivating and full of passion, in one form or another, generating every feeling from joy to extreme sorrow. The storytelling is riveting. It brings me smiles, laughs, sadness and tears.

This book requires more than one tissue. By the end, I am an emotional mess… but that is a good thing. It means Weatherford does her job well, because she makes me feel the story.
