I didn't like a lot of the characters.. the stories felt like they would never end.. til they ended with what seemed like boredom from the author. The only reason I give it 2 stars is the last story.. the dad was so sweet.
Anyone that loves flash fiction will adore this short collection, I know I did. Too many people miss the point of this type of writing, and don't give it the credit it deserves. Done well, flash fiction captures a full array of characters, their emotions and vivid scenarios without droning on with needless description. Ms. Sarett has done this with Crazy Lovebirds. I highly recommend it!
I love little quickie stories! The first and last were my favorites in this collection. "For Better or Worse" is a funny, surreal-ish take on a middle-aged woman's re-evaluation of her husband's charms. "Dad Takes Flight" is a touching glimpse of an elderly father's surprising take on travel, which resonates as much more than that.
If David Sedaris and Kurt Vonnegut joined forces to write relationship based Twilight Zone episodes and Dr. Phil scripts, Crazy LoveBirds would be the result.

These 5 super short stories manage to clandestinely pack in ridiculous amounts of insight and thought-provoking conceptions while ostensibly being fun and breezy reads.

I will absolutely be purchasing Carla Sarett's other work.
I am so happy I read this collection of short stories!

Regardless of relationship status, everyone should be able to relate to at least one story. If nothing else, hope to one day be able to relate!

My personal favorite, Victor's Proposal. I felt like I was sitting at Victor and Gail's table.

But, don't let that take away from the four other wonderful stories in this collection.

If you are looking for a fun, quick read, don't let this one pass you up!
The five short stories contained within this volume more than meet the eye. Love can be fun, frustrating and entertaining all at the same time. Who knows what the future holds? It can be fleeting or last forever. All of the couples know this deep down and try to make the best of a situation that is not always smooth.

It's all in Victor's sentiment "That part about love, for example, that is really an excellent addition." And, yes, so are these crazy love stories, well-penned by a talented writer.
